Back · Our story
A shoemaker lacing a Solehaven prototype at a worn Portland workbench

Portland, Oregon · Since 2019

We started in a garage because every sneaker felt designed for a catalog, not a sidewalk.

See what we make

The first pair

Good-looking at noon. Still comfortable at nine.

In 2019, we were walking home through a wet Portland evening, carrying the shoes we had started the day in. The comfortable pairs always looked disposable. The beautiful pairs started bargaining with our feet by hour three.

So we cleared a kitchen table, bought a secondhand last, and cut the first upper from a stubborn piece of waxed suede. The stitching wandered. The heel needed three tries. But that prototype stayed on for the whole walk home.

That test still guides every release: would we choose this pair when the short way home becomes the long one?

What we hold onto

Design principles for shoes that leave the shelf.

01

Built to break in, not break down

The first miles should feel good. The hundredth should feel personal. We choose materials that soften, flex, and keep their shape instead of giving up early.

02

Quiet design, loud comfort

No borrowed logos. No detail without a job. Just balanced proportions, thoughtful cushioning, and color that works with what you already wear.

03

Small runs, less guesswork

We release tight seasonal collections, learn from every pair, and make the next one better. Fewer leftovers. More intention.

Inside the studio

Made by people who wear the samples home.

Our Portland studio is part workshop, part fitting room, and part archive of ideas that almost worked. Every wall carries a lesson into the next pair.
